Parenthood is an introduction to an array of emotions.

It is high speed learning on the job without instructions. Don't worry, you will be great at it!

In our world today, it is easy to get lost in information overload. Websites, blogs, Facebook posts, books, family and friends all have advice to offer. Our role as parents is crucial in creating long lasting patterns that give your child's life structure. Embrace Parenting is here to support

Become the best parent you can be.

This tiny creature who is a person even before they are born.

The love is there, so is the sleep deprivation, but the responsibility for growing a living breathing, responsible person is immense.

Respecting your child for the unique person they are is at the core of the work we will do together.

With 30 years of  experience coupled with up-to-date research, I will guide you along the path of parenting, so that you can feel confident and back yourself in the decisions that you make for your family.

There is no ONE way in parenting.

No one parenting technique or style that works perfectly for everyone.

I will help you discover the solutions that work for you, solutions that address the root cause of why your child responds or behaves in a particular way. Solutions that support your child in a way that respects the person that they are.

With gentleness and love.

Love is your guide. It is the’ why’ behind all that you do as a parent.

By nurturing your child as a person, and having all you do come from a place that is beneficial to the baby, you are respecting the child, and yourself.

Helping you to feel good about the choice that you make for your child. Helping you to ask the right questions, to be curious, to try and find answers that work for your child, in your family.

It takes courage to want to make changes.

Words and actions matter.

6 - 12 Months

Transitions can be hard. Why has my baby started to wake more at night time? Why aren’t they sleeping during the day? Why won’t they eat food I have lovingly prepared? Your baby and you are unique and at Embrace parenting, we will guide you through.

0 - 6 Months

The anticipation is over. Your new little person is here. Congratulations! Engaging and learning with your baby is so important - connecting right from the beginning. We want this connection to be strong and help our little ones grow with resilience and love.

12 - 18 Months

What happens when we learn to walk? The explosion in motor development can create some interesting challenges, to sleep, to nappy changes, to getting into places that aren’t always safe. Navigating through these changes with our little ones is super fun when you have some tips up your sleeve to guide you and your little one through.

2 - 4 Years

Our little ones are gaining independence and starting to move further afield. How much independence do we give them? How do we help them to navigate the world, their play with other children and their emotions?

These emotions are very real and sometimes very overwhelming. Helping you manage your emotions so that you can help your little people is something we can help you with.

4+ Years

So we have done all this prep work for our little ones and we need to take the next step - letting someone else care for our people. How do not only we, but our little people cope with this? Separation anxiety can be overwhelming. Choosing a new school or a new daycare for our little ones is a decision that you as parents are best equipped to answer. Guidance with what to look for and how to prepare our little ones for this transition can help us to transition too.

Hey there, I’m Louise Donnelly

I’m a registered nurse with over 20 years of experience. I have a Masters in Nursing (paediatrics), a Diploma in Child Health, and an Immunisation certificate.

Beginning my career at The Children’s Hospital in Camperdown and Westmead solidified my interest in children and their families. I moved into general practice in 2008 after having my own children. This setting in particular, introduced me to a community of parents wanting reassurance and guidance as they began to navigate their parenthood journey.
